PAR targets by coral type
- Soft corals: 60–120 PAR (low light tolerant)
- LPS: 100–200 PAR (moderate, indirect)
- Mixed reef: 150–250 PAR average
- SPS dominant: 250–400+ PAR at top of rockwork
⚠ Validate before stocking: Software estimates assume ideal conditions. Use a real PAR meter (Apogee MQ-510 or Seneye) before placing light-demanding SPS. New corals must be acclimated by starting in shade and raising weekly.
