A fleece roller filter replaces the chore of changing filter socks. It advances fresh fleece automatically as the used section clogs. The Red Sea ReefMat 1200 is a roller filter that sits in the sump.
Running costs
Replacement fleece rolls are an ongoing cost. How long a roll lasts depends on how heavily the tank is stocked and fed.
Who it suits
Reef keepers who dislike changing filter socks, or who run a heavily stocked tank.
